Vision

Develop well informed [competent] personnel in this region to braise itself against the future impact of climate changes.

Mission

1. Develop an international network through programs such as:

  • assessment on water balances and water quality in Southeast Asia Region under the global climate and future urban-industrial-agricultural water demand and land use scenarios;
  • water management policies to mitigate the potential impacts of global climate change and regional land use change on the water resources; and;
  • training program and Capacity Building Need Assessment (CBNA) in the related areas.

2. Development of a detailed assessment of the water balances and water quality conditions at Southeast Asia Region under the global climate and future urban-industrial-agricultural water demand and land use scenarios;

3. The development of the appropriate water management policies over the region in order to mitigate the potential impacts of global climate change and regional land use change on the water resources of the region within the framework of future water demand and land use scenarios;

4. The identification of Capacity Building Need Assessment (CBNA) in the related areas; and

5. The development of a relevant training program for the region.

Goal

The goals of this hub are as follows:

· The identification of Capacity Building Need Assessment (CBNA) in the related areas

· The development of a relevant training program for the region

Objectives

In order to achieve the above-stated goals, the proposed hub will pursue the following objectives:

§ To develop training modules and programs

§ To research and help develop policy initiatives

§ To encourage the development of hydroclimate projection models, together with countries in      the region and relevant regional organisations
